The market will change
_________
The price falls since the early 2023 heady peaks have reflected the improving 36-month supply and the gradual new market recovery over the last year.
This realignment will continue over the winter months. Price volatility will intensify, though, as credit conditions loosen later this year and borrowing costs start to fall again.
Our history of RV forecasting
_________
We’ve analysed and forecast auto RVs for over twenty-five years – cars, LCVs and HGVs. We’ve helped manufacturers, leasing and rental companies gain greater control of their RV analysis and projections.
We’ve also worked with auto manufacturers on broader strategy, marketing and sales issues. From consumer analysis and product launches to market and sales forecasting.
Our approach to RV forecasting
_________
Like every other consumer spending sector, the used car market is highly rational and consistent. Prices are the result of interacting demand and supply conditions.
We group the drivers representing market demand as consumer affluence, consumer confidence and consumer credit. Market supply is down to historic new market registrations, fleet management cycles and legislative change.
How we forecast residual values
_________
We use AI (machine learning), econometric and statistical modelling techniques to identify the prime drivers of RVs. We then quantify the relationships between these drivers and market RVs.
With forecasts of the drivers, these quantified relationships can then be used to forecast any number of future scenarios. Frequently, our clients like to overlay these model forecasts with their own market knowledge.
